This Nantucket vacation rental has over five acres of gorgeous grounds poised upon the highest elevation in the neighborhood. Three floors of generous living with cozy private areas and several open spaces including a spectacular porch overlooking the lush lawn combine to make this an ideal gathering spot for extended family and friends.
First Floor
A welcoming foyer with a slate floor opens to a magnificent great room with dramatic soaring ceilings, a decorative fieldstone fireplace, and a large living area with multiple seating and dining areas. French doors lead onto a stunning porch, the perfect spot to spend a long summer evening. The gourmet kitchen is open to the great room and features custom cabinetry, Corian and butcher block countertops, two Jenn-Air gas ranges, a SubZero refrigerator, and a wine refrigerator. The large breakfast bar has seating for five and just behind is a large table with seating for ten. Just off the front foyer are a powder room and a coat nook. On either side of the main great room/kitchen are two bedroom wings: one with a two bedroom family suite with full bath, and the other with two bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms. (To the left of the great room are two guest bedrooms; the first bedroom has two twin beds with French doors leading out to a small patio and an ensuite shower bathroom and the second bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed with an ensuite shower bathroom. A few steps down and to the right of the kitchen you will find a family suite with two queen bedrooms and an ensuite bathroom with a tub and a shower, you must walk through one bedroom to get to the second). French doors lead out to the front yard.
Second Floor
The second-floor catwalk leads to two cozy sitting areas; one with a decorative fireplace and a full shower bathroom. Step down to a private master suite with a cathedral ceiling, decorative fireplace, outdoor balcony, large walk-in closet, an ensuite bathroom with a marble sink, soaking tub, and tiled shower.
Third Floor
From the 2nd-floor balcony area, a custom ship's ladder leads to the roof walk with spectacular panoramic views of the harbor, Nantucket Sound, and pastoral views of the island.
Lower Level
The enormous finished walkout lower-level family room has two 4-panel sliding French doors to the lovely outdoor patio. The sitting area, with plenty of comfortable seating, faces an entertainment center with a large flat-screen television. A wet bar including a mini-Subzero refrigerator and a Miele dishwasher is the perfect spot for snacks and cocktails. What we like about Wauwinet
The only business in the area, the Wauwinet Inn offers fine dining, spa services, exquisite rooms, and boat service to town for their guests and diners. Wauwinet is also where you access Great Point, the peninsula that forms Nantucket’s northernmost tip, and home to Great Point Light. Great Point remains under the protection of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation and the state’s Trustees of Reservations. An excursion along this ever-changing and unspoiled landscape, by boat or via four-wheel-drive vehicle, is a must-see while visiting Nantucket.
